Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first woman elected vice president and also holds the title of most powerful female officer in the history of America. As a member of the Democratic Party, she was the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017 and was she was a United States senator representing California in 2017-2021. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In the following years, she was the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco's district attorney. She was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010, and reelected in 2014. Harris was the junior United States Senate from California between 2017 and 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Santiago in the 2016 Senate election and became the 2nd African American woman to serve in Congress and the first South Asian American American to serve in the United States Senate. She was a senator and advocated for healthcare reform and federal cannabis de-scheduling. She also advocated for the possibility of citizenship for immigrants without a legal status, the DREAM Act, a ban against assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. In the news, attention was paid to her shrewd questions of Trump administration officials during Senate sessions. This included Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual assault.
